Dry Needling

Target stubborn pain and muscle tension with advanced dry needling therapy.

Dry needling is a safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment used to relieve pain and restore muscle function. This technique involves the insertion of very fine, solid needles-without the use of medication-directly into tight or painful muscles, also known as trigger points.

Unlike acupuncture, which is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and aims to rebalance energy (Qi), dry needling is grounded in modern anatomical and neurological science. It focuses on treating the underlying causes of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.

What Will You Feel?

The needles used are extremely thin-most patients barely feel them as they enter the skin. You may experience:

  • A dull ache during treatment
  • A small muscle twitch response (this is a positive sign that the muscle is releasing)
  • Mild soreness for up to 24-48 hours, similar to post-exercise soreness

Many patients report immediate improvements in pain and mobility following treatment.

How Does It Work:

  • Reduce pain by altering the way your nervous system processes pain signals
  • Release muscle tightness and trigger points
  • Promote blood flow and natural healing responses in the affected area
  • Improve range of motion and muscle performance

It can be used as a stand alone therapy or is sometimes offered during sports massage for stubborn knots to get a deeper release.
